Ash

An astronaut named Riya abruptly regains consciousness aboard a scientific research station. She has no memory of how she arrived or what transpired before waking, only disturbing fragments of nightmarish memories.

As Riya explores the deserted station, she stumbles upon several corpses of her fellow crew members. This horrifying revelation deepens her confusion and fear about her current situation.

During her exploration, Riya hears someone entering through the airlock and ambushes the newcomer. It is Brion, who claims to be a rescuer and asserts that he knows Riya after receiving a distress signal from her.

Through flashbacks and discussions, Riya and Brion piece together their past missions. They realize they were part of expeditions to find new habitable planets, with their current location, K.O.I.-442, being Earth's last hope.

With systems failing and life support dwindling, Riya and Brion decide they must leave within the next twelve hours. They begin preparations to reach the orbital station as they struggle with increasing feelings of danger.

After unsuccessful searches for Clarke, the only unaccounted crew member, Riya's mind is plagued by vivid flashbacks of her crew meeting terrible fates. Riya becomes increasingly convinced that Clarke is still alive but infected with something that drove her mad.

A sudden meteor storm causes a hull breach in the station, further alarming Riya and Brion about their precarious situation. As they work to seal the breach, Riya discovers evidence that someone has been moving through the maintenance shafts.

While investigating the station's drone recordings, Riya uncovers a mission report detailing the perilous discovery of alien atmospheric converters. She learns that her crew fell victim to one of these devices, heightening her distress and frustration.

Riya experiences a shocking flashback involving Adhi, which leads her to confront the specter of danger within the station. She encounters Clarke, who attacks her, forcing Riya to retreat and ultimately leading to Clarke's demise.

After scanning the bodies and piecing together the brutal events, Riya comes to a terrifying realization. She is the one infected and that Brion's presence was merely a hallucination created by a parasitic entity residing in her.

Riya recalls the sequence of events where her crew members were killed, revealing her role in their deaths. This involves a cycle of her killing out of self-defense and being driven mad by the parasitic infection.

Determined not to succumb, Riya attempts to extract the parasite with the station’s medical robot. However, the parasite revives Brion's corpse, leading to an intense showdown that results in Riya having to destroy it.

After battling the parasite and the consequences of her actions, Riya manages to restore the lander to operational status. With no time to spare, she takes off towards the orbital station, putting herself on a path to confront what awaits her.

As Riya approaches the orbital facility, she becomes aware of an alarming reality—the orbital station is also compromised by parasites. This realization signals the beginning of a new chapter in her harrowing journey.
