On Navarathri day in 1996, five-year-old Aravindan is abandoned by his mother in the sanctum of Mookambika Lakshmi Devi. A kind hotelier named Madhavan takes him in and raises him, shaping him into a hotel caretaker with a love for arts and social service. This traumatic beginning fuels Aravindan's lifelong longing to meet his mother and his distant relationship with the deity.

After taking him in, Madhavan raises Aravindan as his ward and supports his interest in the arts and social work. Aravindan grows up to be the hotel's caretaker, finding purpose in service and creativity. The warm, protective environment contrasts with his hidden ache to find his mother.

Despite his cheerful exterior, Aravindan longs to meet his mother and has not prayed before the temple deity since she left him. The unanswered ache shapes his daily life and the way he views faith and devotion. He remains connected to the temple community, even as the personal wound deepens.

Varada, a disciplined Bharatanatyam student, arrives with her family to launch her career at the temple. She injures her leg during an incident and must stay at Madhavan's lodge to recover, where she begins to meet Aravindan and the other locals. Her stay inadvertently entwines their fates.

Aravindan helps Varada's family during her convalescence and arranges an opportunity for Varada to choreograph a video album. The project deepens their bond and introduces Varada to a wider circle of artistic possibilities. This collaboration hints at Varada's future training with Janaki.
