Annabelle: Creation

In 1946, Samuel Mullins, a skilled doll maker, is deeply engaged in the creation of a remarkable new doll, which would become known as Annabelle. His passion for crafting leads him to neglect the outside world, focused solely on his artistic endeavor.

During his crafting session, Samuel’s daughter, Bee, playfully invites him to a game of hide-and-seek. Joy fills the air as he finds her and the family shares a tender moment of laughter, showcasing their close-knit relationship.

The Mullins family attends church together, where Esther confidently discusses Samuel’s upcoming dolls with the congregation. This happy outing takes a tragic turn when their car suffers a flat tire on their return home.

While attempting to flag down a passing car, disaster strikes when Bee, eager to help, is struck by a vehicle. The heartbreaking loss devastates the Mullins family, marking the beginning of their tragic downfall.

Fast forward to 1958, Sister Charlotte arrives at the Mullins' home along with six orphaned girls, seeking shelter. The air is thick with mystery, especially regarding Esther's tragic circumstances since Bee's death.

As the girls explore, Janice’s curiosity leads her to peek into Bee's locked room. Samuel forbids her entry, increasing the tension and curiosity surrounding the secrets that lie within.

That night, Janice sneaks into Bee's room, finding an abandoned dollhouse and some toys. Among her discoveries is a mysterious key that opens a hidden door, revealing the sinister doll crafted by Samuel many years ago.

During a dinner, Carol perceives a spectral figure resembling Esther, which leads the girls to share unsettling ghost stories. The haunting atmosphere escalates when Janice is terrorized by a creeping force in her room.

Samuel confronts a horrific entity pretending to be Janice, but it reveals its true, sinister nature. In a desperate attempt to protect himself with a cross, he suffers a brutal fate at the hands of the malevolent spirit.

Charlotte confronts Esther, who reveals the painful truth about the doll being a vessel for a malevolent spirit brought into their lives after Bee's tragic death. This revelation unveils the chain of horrors that followed since then.

In a chilling turn, Janice is possessed by the malevolent spirit, leading her to attack Sister Charlotte. The urgency escalates as the remaining girls, trapped in the chaos, desperately try to flee the home.

Frantic to escape, Linda throws the cursed doll into a well, but ominous sounds indicate that they are still entangled with the malevolent force. The terror persists as they realize their connection remains unbroken.

Time progresses, and we meet Pete and Sharon Higgins at an orphanage, where they encounter Janice, who now identifies herself as Annabelle. Captivated by her charm, they decide to adopt her, presenting her with a Raggedy Ann doll.

Twelve years later, disturbances at the Higgins' home lead to a terrifying encounter that results in Pete and Sharon's tragic demise at the hands of Annabelle. The once innocent charm has transformed into pure terror.

As the credits roll, Annabelle ominously watches the audience, her sinister presence palpable. A post-credits scene hints at the continued horror, linking her to the malevolent nun from 'The Conjuring 2' in Romania.
