Rosy, a girl with a paralyzed left arm and weak heart, lives at the orphanage among others abandoned for disabilities or lack of parents. She is rude and ill-treats caretakers, driving most staff and children to dislike her, except Mother Superior who remains kind. Her harshness stems from her loneliness and birth circumstances.

Lalitha is hired to take care of Rosy by Mother Superior. Unlike others, she treats Rosy with care and patience, earning surprise from the staff. This marks the start of a potential bond between them.

Mother Superior arranges for Rajinikanth to visit and entertain the kids with permission. He arrives with warmth, distributing sweets to every child and staff. Rosy, however, rudely dismisses his gifts, drawing universal disgust, though he remains calm and announces a free screening of his film Annai Oru Aalayam for the children.

The announcement of the film screening angers those around Rosy, while she secretly feels a sting of guilt. She initially avoids the screening that night, choosing to hide away. Curiosity pulls her to the window, and she begins to glimpse the film from there.

As she glimpses scenes from the film, the story of a protagonist saving a baby elephant and reuniting it with its mother resonates with Rosy. The portrayal of parental love awakens empathy inside her and makes her rethink her harsh behavior. The movie choices begin to soften her attitude.

The next day, Rosy sends an apologetic letter to Rajinikanth, explaining how the film touched her and prompted a change in her outlook. Rajinikanth responds with kindness, encouraging her transformation. This exchange marks a turning point in her behavior.

Seeing Rosy's transformation, Mother Superior asks Rajinikanth to return and engage the children further. She also arranges a playful activity with K. Bhagyaraj to please the kids and deepen Rosy's bond with the superstar.

During the second visit, Rajinikanth and Rosy bond deeply. He takes her along to his film shoots and spends time with her beyond the walls of the orphanage, enriching her world with new experiences and hope.

Back at the orphanage, Rosy coughs up blood and faints. Doctors reveal a weak heart and tell them she has only a few days left to live, shocking Lalitha and Rajinikanth. The revelation shifts the focus to her remaining time.

A private confrontation reveals that Lalitha is Rosy's biological mother, who had to give her up due to family issues and the loss of her husband. The revelation adds emotional weight to Rosy’s condition and the relationships around her.

With the knowledge of Rosy’s limited time, Mother Superior asks Rajinikanth to provide comfort and help keep her spirits high. Rajinikanth agrees, reinforcing his role as Rosy’s protector and friend.

Rosy makes a heartfelt request that Rajinikanth come and celebrate Christmas as Santa Claus, keeping it a secret from others. She longs for one last moment of joy and normalcy in her dwindling days.

On Christmas Eve, Rajinikanth fulfills Rosy's wish by appearing as Santa. He reveals his true identity, bringing immense happiness to Rosy, who laughs with joy before coughing up blood and fainting again.

The night becomes bittersweet as Rosy realizes Lalitha is her mother, shocking those present. The mix of happiness, gratitude, and the looming end intensifies the emotional moment for everyone.

Holding Rajinikanth's hand, Rosy dies, with friends and caretakers in tears. After the funeral, Rajinikanth leaves the orphanage in a somber mood, marking the end of Rosy's journey and the impact of the miracles she experienced.
