An American Tail: Fievel Goes West

In 1890, the Mousekewitz family faces relentless pressure from cat-hungry predators. An attack drives them from their home, sending them scurrying into the city sewers. They cling to hope for safety and a better life.

Fievel spends his days imagining a legendary lawman named Wylie Burp. He pictures him as a steadfast protector who could keep their family safe. The dream anchors him amid hardship.

Inside the sewers, a cowboy mouse who is actually a marionette controlled by Cat R. Waul tricks the mice into moving out west. The ruse promises adventure but serves Waul's plan to harvest the mice later. The journey begins with a dangerous promise and uncertain fate.

While in the livestock car, Fievel overhears Cat R. Waul and his cohort discussing plans to eat the mice. He tries to warn his family but is discovered, creating tension and panic. Waul abandons him to the desert with Chula, cutting him off from home.

Chula leaves Fievel stranded in the blistering desert, hoping the heat and isolation will break the boy. He must improvise to survive while thinking of home and his sister Tanya. The separation tests his resolve and fuels his determination to reunite with his family.

The family finally reaches Green River, Utah, seeking safety and a fresh start. They try to settle into their new life as Waul's threat looms in the shadows. The town's quiet surface hides a looming danger to their community.

Chula sabotages the water tower, drying the river and threatening the settlers. Cat R. Waul approaches the mice with an offer to build a grand saloon, intending the labor for himself and the mice as prey. The town's fate now hinges on water and deception.

Out west, Tiger is captured by a local mouse native tribe and is hailed as a god, complicating his longing to reunite with Fievel. The tribe's ceremony provides a temporary refuge from Waul's schemes but deepens the rift with western life.

Fievel is snatched by a hawk, but the natives attack the bird and pull him into their village. There he meets Tiger again, and the two reconnect after their long separation. The reunion gives them a shared sense of purpose to survive the wild west.

Desperate to rejoin his family, Fievel rides a passing tumbleweed back toward Green River. He lands with his loved ones, but they remain unaware of Waul's broader plan. The town's fragile peace holds for now.

Back in Green River's saloon, Fievel overhears Waul's scheme again and is discovered by the cat leader. Waul tries to eat him, but he is distracted when Tanya begins to sing. The performance exposes Waul's deception and rallies the mice.

Tiger, Wylie Burp, and Fievel confront Waul in a final showdown. Tanya's song and Miss Kitty's loyalties help turn the tide as the mouse trap is used to fling Waul and his gang away. The mailbag catches the felines mid-flight, the water tower collapses, and Green River is saved. Miss Kitty and Tiger reunite; Tanya becomes a star; Fievel accepts a sheriff badge from Wylie Burp, signaling the journey's next chapter.
