Rajan leaves home to live in a nearby slum area, staying at Rahim Khan's house. The two men form a close bond, while Rajan's relationship with his father remains strained. This shift introduces a backdrop of poverty and resilience.

Rahim earns a living by collecting Hafta from fishermen and stands up to Bhuree and his men who pressure the fishermen to vacate for a new development. Rahim's defense of the fishermen earns him respect but also marks him as a target for local criminals. The tension between Rahim and Bhuree drives ongoing conflict in the village.

Bashir Khan has long cherished his love for Reshma, a feeling known to Reshma's father Kader and to Diwan's circle. This romance adds a personal stake for Bashir within a community already tangled in crime and justice. The secret affection foreshadows future complications.

In a separate case, Diwan sentences Tejaa, head of Bhuree's group, to life imprisonment. Tejaa is released on bail soon after, and with his freedom he vows to avenge himself and strike back at Diwan. The threat of retribution sows seeds of future conflict.

Dr. John, Bashir's senior, is found dead and the evidence points to Bashir, seen with a bloody knife. Bashir is arrested, and the case against him is built on the weight of this damning clue. The accusation pits Bashir against the justice system his brother will soon confront.
