It’s the vibrant summer of 1969, a time when the world eagerly anticipates Neil Armstrong’s historic moonwalk. Amidst the backdrop of the tumultuous Vietnam War, an era of flower children, and the iconic Woodstock concert, teenage Alison finds herself on vacation with her family at a holiday camp designed for Jewish families, conveniently located near Woodstock.

Alison’s mother, Pearl, is portrayed as a beautiful yet weary woman, weighed down by the burdens of life. Having become a mother at a young age, she abandoned her own dreams to focus on raising her children. Meanwhile, her father, Marty, is largely absent, preoccupied with his job at the local television repair shop. In a race against time, he caters to families desperate to fix their sets for the monumental moon landing broadcast.

The calm of the camp is disrupted one day by the sudden arrival of a charismatic salesman specializing in clothing and assorted trinkets. Instantly captivated, Pearl experiences love at first sight. This new beau introduces her to a whirlwind of romance and excitement, culminating in an unexpected adventure to Woodstock, where Alison is also attending with her first boyfriend.

During the electrifying concert, the atmosphere shifts dramatically when Alison spots her mother amidst the revelry, prompting her to flee in distress. Simultaneously, Marty, now aware of Pearl’s affair, confronts the reality of their struggling marriage, as he ventures into the crowd in search of clarity.

In a poignant moment of reconciliation, as the salesman eventually departs, Pearl and Marty find themselves back in each other’s arms, reconnecting through dance and shared history, attempting to mend the fractures in their relationship.
