Anna was from a poor family and saw the newspaper ad as a rare opportunity for well-paid work. Anna managed to crawl out of a window and fled with Georg and the detective in a horse-drawn carriage. However, during the escape, a wind-blown car chase ensued as the slaveholders pursued them. The pursuers eventually overpowered the escapees, and Anna was recaptured by the traffickers.

Georg and the detective initially conducted their own investigation to locate Anna before alerting authorities. They only contacted Scotland Yard after tracking Anna to the port, where she was about to be sold to another country. The police then joined the rescue operation onboard the departing ship.

After Anna was transported to the port to be sold abroad, the maid revealed her destination to Georg and the detective, who had alerted Scotland Yard. Georg and police officers managed to board the ship just before it left. A brief but exciting confrontation unfolded onboard, during which Anna was freed from her captors.

The film concludes with Anna's rescue and return to Denmark, but it does not explicitly show whether the brothel owners and slaveholders were arrested. The focus remains on Anna's liberation and homecoming rather than the legal fate of her captors.
