D'Leh spared the Spear-Tooth's life before the main events of the film, and this act becomes crucial when the Naku tribe's leader Nakudu reveals a prophecy: a person who communicated with a Spear-Tooth would help liberate the captured people. D'Leh recognizes himself as the one foretold in the prophecy, which gives him and the other captives hope and purpose in their quest.

Earlier in the film, D'Leh's act of mercy toward the wild animal is shown as a moment of compassion that will later define his destiny.

The Almighty is the enigmatic ruler of an advanced civilization resembling ancient Egypt, whom the enslaved people worship as a living god. He exploits thousands of slaves, including D'Leh's captured tribe members, forcing them to build a vast pyramid complex. He is ultimately revealed to be a manipulative tyrant who uses religion to maintain control over his subjects.

D'Leh's father had vanished years earlier while searching for food, but he was actually captured and enslaved by The Almighty's forces. When D'Leh encounters a servant at the pyramid complex wearing his father's bracelet, he discovers his father survived as a slave. This revelation fuels D'Leh's determination to end the tyranny and free all the captives.

The Four Legged Demons are horse-riding raiders who systematically attack and enslave various tribes to capture workers for their empire. They launch a surprise attack on the Yagahl camp while D'Leh and others are away, capturing Evolet and many other tribe members to be taken as slaves to the Mountains of the Gods.

The White Spear is a coveted honor in the Yagahl tribe, awarded to hunters who successfully slay a woolly mammoth. D'Leh earns this prestigious weapon and the right to marry Evolet after killing a mammoth, though he secretly believes his accomplishment was an accident rather than a true test of his skills.

After being separated from Evolet and Baku during a failed rescue attempt, D'Leh and Tic'Tic encounter other tribes who have also suffered attacks from the raiders. Together with the Naku tribe led by Nakudu, they forge alliances and rally multiple groups to form a coalition army. The shared suffering and the prophecy about the Spear-Tooth bind these diverse tribes together for a common cause.

The Almighty offers D'Leh a cruel choice: take Evolet and let his warriors return home while the remaining slaves stay captive, or continue fighting. D'Leh pretends to accept this deal to get close to The Almighty, then uses the opportunity to throw a spear and kill him, dismantling the false god's regime.

After D'Leh kills The Almighty, Evolet is kidnapped by an obsessed raider and fights back desperately but suffers a mortal wound. D'Leh avenges her by killing her captor and cradles her lifeless body. However, the tribe's wise woman sacrifices herself to magically restore Evolet to life, allowing her and D'Leh to return home together.

During the rebellion, D'Leh leads the enslaved people to incite the woolly mammoths, which have been forced to work on the pyramids, into a massive stampede. The stampede crushes and scatters many of The Almighty's forces, significantly weakening his army and helping the slaves gain the upper hand in the battle.

After defeating The Almighty and freeing the slaves, D'Leh and Evolet return to their tribe as heroes. Their journey has exposed them to the advanced civilization's knowledge, and they choose to bring back agricultural practices to replace the hunter-gatherer lifestyle, marking a new era of progress for their people.

The Mountains of the Gods are where the raiders transport their captured slaves aboard ships with distinctive red sails. This location turns out to be the site of The Almighty's advanced civilization, where thousands of slaves are forced to build pyramids under the guise of serving a god-like ruler.

D'Leh successfully rescues Evolet from the captured camp during a desperate operation, but their escape is cut short when a fierce attack leaves Tic'Tic injured. In the chaos, both Evolet and Baku are recaptured by the raiders, forcing D'Leh to continue his relentless pursuit across the wilderness.
