In a striking prologue, the film revisits the creation myth, presenting how God formed Adam and Eve before shifting to a contemporary story about a newlywed couple. The couple, Balaji, known as Bala, and Priya, move into a bright new apartment, seeking a life together built on love. Yet trouble looms from Priya’s bloodline: her family history is marked by mental illness, a cycle that casts a shadow over their happiness. Bala’s father, Vijay Kumar, cannot hide his disappointment, fearing Priya’s past could threaten his son’s future. Despite this, Bala remains steadfast in his devotion to Priya, determined to stand by her side no matter the weight of her history.

Soon after settling in, a troubling incident reveals Priya’s fragile grip on ordinary life. In a store, she takes lipsticks without paying and claims she did not remember taking them, sparking an argument with the security guard. The event unsettles Bala, but Priya insists she is haunted by memories rather than guilt. Upon returning home, she reveals to a neighbor that she cannot bear children, a secret that deepens the estrangement with those around her. Later that night, Priya experiences a vivid dream in which she speaks with her mother, and she begins to wrestle with the stigma of her perceived thievery and a growing sense of being pulled toward a hidden world.

What follows is a disquieting drift into the supernatural. Priya begins sleepwalking, and eerie disturbances multiply around her. She grows increasingly unsettled, and the boundaries between reality and illusion blur. At a critical moment, Priya conducts a violent act—she stabs Bala—before slipping into a nightmarish state wherein her mother’s memory seems to inhabit her. A new, malevolent presence emerges: Lilith, a Biblical demon who takes over Priya’s body and unleashes a wave of fear and chaos. To confront this haunting, Bala seeks out Solomon, an occult specialist reputed to speak with ghosts, hoping to understand what grips Priya and to find a way to help her.

Solomon’s examination reveals a mythic history behind Lilith. He uncovers the being’s origins: Lilith existed before Eve, rebelled against Adam, and was cursed by God with infertility after her defiance. Across the ages, Lilith conceived countless times with the devil’s offspring, yet each child died or was stillborn. This pattern birthed a vengeful spirit who tormented pregnant women and trapped their souls in a dark, otherworldly realm. Priya, however, survived that perverse history as an unlikely mortal child, and Lilith now seeks to annihilate the world as part of a diabolical pact.

The movie makes the Devil’s influence explicit: in serpentine form, the Devil manipulates Lilith’s actions to fulfill a cataclysmic mission. Since Lilith shares Priya’s body and the bond between Priya and Bala has endured across multiple lifetimes, their soulmate connection weakens Lilith when she attempts to harm Bala. Three exorcists from around the world join the struggle, but their efforts falter against Lilith’s powers. In a crucial moment, Bala’s touch on Priya triggers a flood of memories, weakening Lilith’s hold and allowing Priya to return to her own self. Yet the danger is not over; the threat of possession lingers as Lilith fights to reclaim control.

In a climactic turn, a higher force intervenes. God freezes time to avert catastrophe and blesses Priya with pregnancy, signaling a divine vindication of the couple’s bond and their potential as parents. Lilith is banished, and the world is spared from immediate destruction. The film closes with a haunting note: the Devil, still at large, reappears in the shape of a snake and then shifts back into a human form, vowing to complete his mission alone. The final image hints at a forthcoming confrontation and a possible sequel, Zero-2, leaving viewers with a chilling sense that the struggle between light and darkness is far from over.
