In the chilling introduction of the film, we witness Erik (Larry Fessenden) and Talia (Kate Lyn Sheil) engaged in an intimate moment. After their passionate encounter, Erik steps into the shower while Talia heads downstairs for a drink. As she strolls through the living room, she notices the sliding glass doors ajar and promptly shuts them. Once settled, she puts on a soothing CD, blissfully unaware of the horror awaiting her. Meanwhile, Erik finishes his shower and exits to find a sinister message scrawled in blood on the mirror: “You’re Next.” The chilling discovery quickly escalates as he finds Talia’s lifeless body sprawled in her own blood. Exiting the bedroom in shock, he is met by a masked intruder who brutally dispatches him with a machete.

The scene shifts to Paul (Rob Moran) and Aubrey (Barbara Crampton), a seemingly normal middle-aged couple on their way to their secluded country home. Passing by their neighbors’ abode, Paul casually mentions Erik’s recent indiscretion—abandoning his wife for a younger woman, Talia. Arriving at their grand yet isolated mansion deep in the woods, their initial sense of tranquility dissipates as unsettling noises from upstairs unsettle Aubrey. Paul’s casual reassurances only amplify their tension. After almost confirming someone else is in the house, they barely escape discovering a closet door that creaks open—hinting at a concealed intruder.

As the family begins to gather for a reunion, we meet Crispian (AJ Bowen) and his Australian girlfriend, Erin (Sharni Vinson). Felix’s treachery becomes evident, revealing his motivations rooted in greed, while Erin, armed with makeshift weapons and her father’s survivalist teachings, fights back against the encroaching chaos.
