What Happens at the End of Yodha?

How Yodha (2024) ends, what the final scene means, which earlier moments set it up and how to read the ending if the film leaves it open. The full ending explained, with every spoiler.

Arun Katyal, once disgraced after the failed Amritsar rescue, is thrust onto a Delhi‑London flight that is suddenly overtaken. The crew and passengers are led to believe that Arun himself is the terrorist, but he soon discovers that the real threat comes from two Pakistani operatives—an air‑hostess named Laila and a co‑pilot. They have hidden explosives inside fire‑extinguisher canisters, planning to crash the aircraft into the Prime Minister’s building in Islamabad during a high‑profile diplomatic visit, an act that would spark a war.

Using his training as an army commando, Arun neutralises the bombs by redirecting the extinguishers’ water pumps, repairs the jammed landing gear and forces the crippled plane to land on a wide road just outside the targeted building. The aircraft touches down heavily but does not explode, allowing most passengers to survive. On the tarmac, a Pakistani militant, Jalal, takes the Indian Prime Minister and Arun’s wife Priyamvada hostage, intent on killing them and framing Arun as a traitor. In a brutal hand‑to‑hand showdown, Arun triggers an explosive device that kills Jalal, saving both the Prime Minister and Priyamvada. In the aftermath Priyamvada reveals she never actually signed the divorce papers, leaving the couple separated but still legally married.

Impressed by Arun’s decisive actions and the fact that the crisis was averted, the government reinstates the elite unit “Yodha,” fulfilling Arun’s long‑held wish to restore his father’s legacy. The film ends with the newly re‑authorized Yodha ready for future missions, and Arun’s personal and professional redemption finally secured.
