Wolf Creek

Highway patrol officers Gary Bulmer and Brian O'Connor are busy trying to meet their speeding ticket quotas in the scorching deserts of North West Australia. Their mundane routine leads them to confront various drivers, unaware of the horror that awaits them.

During their patrol, Bulmer and O'Connor stop Mick Taylor, a seemingly laid-back driver, under the pretense of speeding. The situation quickly intensifies as Mick is verbally assaulted and handed a speeding ticket, setting off a chain of violent events.

Anger over the ticket leads Mick to retaliate violently. A stray bullet hits O'Connor, leaving him lifeless in a gully and subsequently, Mick brutally breaks Bulmer's leg and stabs him, leaving him to die in a fire.

Meanwhile, a young German couple, Rutger and Katarina, starts their hitchhiking adventure from Sydney and sets up camp near Wolf Creek Crater. Their peaceful night under the stars will soon become a living nightmare as danger lurks nearby.

Mick arrives at their campsite and offers to help the couple, but when his offer is rejected, he launches a vicious attack. Strewn with violence, he stabs Rutger and ties up Katarina, unveiling his horrific intentions.

As Mick prepares to execute his gruesome plans on Katarina, a recovering Rutger attempts to fight back. Despite his valiant effort, he meets a brutal demise at the hands of Mick, leaving Katarina trapped in a nightmare.

Katarina awakens to find Mick dismembering Rutger's body. In a desperate bid for survival, she manages to escape into the wilderness, igniting a horrifying pursuit as Mick chases her down like prey.

English tourist Paul Hammersmith unknowingly becomes embroiled in the chaos when he picks up the distraught Katarina. Their fleeting moment of hope quickly transforms into terror as Mick shows up and kills Katarina.

After a violent confrontation, Mick takes control of Paul's vehicle, initiating a chaotic chase along the highway. The pursuit becomes even deadlier as Mick recklessly runs down kangaroos, leading to a catastrophic crash.

Paul miraculously escapes the wreckage, but his fight for survival leads him across the unforgiving outback. Exhausted and dehydrated, he finds temporary refuge at a homestead, only for Mick to arrive and unleash carnage.

Captured and zip-tied in Mick's lair, Paul faces psychological torment and physical torture as Mick conducts a twisted quiz game about Australian culture. Each wrong answer escalates the stakes in this horrifying game of life and death.

When Paul struggles to answer correctly, he faces gruesome punishment at the hands of Mick, who mutilates his fingers with a grinder. Each question heightens the tension as Paul fights not just for his knowledge but his very survival.

At a critical juncture, Paul manages to escape after cleverly manipulating Mick. A violent struggle ensues, during which he strikes Mick and sprints through the labyrinth of horrors, only to find himself continuously hunted.

Paul wakes up again, confused and discarded in rural Australia, accompanied by a mocking note that reminds him of his traumatic ordeal. He is later discovered by police, yet his harrowing experience leaves him entangled in suspicion regarding the Wolf Creek murders.

The film closes with Mick disappearing into the vast Australian outback, rifle in hand. The chilling implications of justice gone awry and the cycle of terror remain, as Paul grapples with the aftermath of his trauma.
