For the third time, the evil Wishmaster returns to wreck the lives of more innocents. This time, his target is a bright, studious teenage girl named Diana Collins A. J. Cook, who accidentally opens a mysterious jewel-encrusted box and unleashes the Djinn John Novak imprisoned inside. With the Djinn now free, Professor Joel Barash Jason Connery tries to bargain for control of the wishes, asking the Djinn to let him grant a single, dangerous one: to make two of the world’s loveliest ladies fall in love with him. The Djinn grants the wish, but chaos immediately follows—those two women turn on Barash and kill him, and the Djinn deftly steals Barash’s identity, slipping into a new face and a new life.
A careless secretary is killed when she tries to conjure harmless files only to incinerate them instead, and the Djinn sets his sights on Diana by stealing her student file and forcing her into a deadly game of three wishes. Diana flees with a growing sense that the Djinn intends to trap her in a global nightmare. In her flight, she seeks safety in a church, but she discovers the Djinn waiting there instead of a priest. Her friend Ann Daniella Evangelista, now acting as the professor’s Teaching Assistant, makes a lighthearted wish—“to lose a little weight”—and instantly suffers a grim, painful reaction. Diana’s first wish is to end Ann’s pain, but the Djinn uses that gesture to mark Ann as another casualty and press Diana toward the next, darker request.
Diana learns that the only way to subdue the archfiend is to summon a higher power. In a moment of desperate faith, she uses a second wish to summon archangel Michael, who possesses her boyfriend Greg Janson Tobias Mehler. A ferocious confrontation erupts as the Djinn fights back, and Diana and Michael barely escape into a stage theater. The Djinn follows and, in a cruel twist, entices a shy student named Elinor Emmanuelle Vaugier to flirt with him and then “break her heart,” killing her when the wish is fulfilled.
Back in Diana’s world, the Djinn targets Diana’s circle, turning his attention to Katie York [Louisette Geiss], who hurries into a laboratory-filled science wing. He tricks her into wishing for a perfect place to hide, and the trap snaps shut as lab rats swarm and fatally maul her. A second clash between Michael and the Djinn leads to a brief severing of the Djinn’s hand, which regrows in seconds, and the couple escapes in a car, only to be slammed by fate again when they crash into an information post, mirroring a past tragedy that shaped Diana’s family.
As the body count rises, Diana faces the ultimate choice. In a dramatic act of self-sacrifice, she jumps from a building in a doomed attempt to gain the power to wield Michael’s sword, a blade capable of ending the Djinn’s reign. Michael reveals the hidden truth: only by using that sacred sword can she kill the Djinn. The battle culminates in a brutal duel in which the Djinn is slain, but both Diana and Michael are gravely wounded in the fall. Michael heals Diana’s injuries, then returns to Heaven, leaving Diana to confront the truth of her love for her now-normal boyfriend, Greg Janson. With courage and resolve, Diana survives the ordeal and begins to rebuild her life, carrying the memory of those she lost while embracing a fragile, renewed hope for the future.
