In 1979, a group of demon worshippers in Morocco attempt to summon a Djinn using a Ouija board, a ritual that ends in eight deaths and two survivors. In present-day London, three teenagers, Liam, Rob and Webster, gear up for a big party at an abandoned warehouse, their nerves loosened by music, drinks, and a sense of reckless freedom. They’re joined by another teenager, Stella, who is invited to the gathering and soon meets their new roommate, Joe, as the night swirls toward danger. The party scene is messy, loud, and disorienting, a perfect backdrop for the group’s curiosity and impulse. Among the attendees is Annie, a friend who is close to Liam’s circle, played by Annie, along with Lucy and Spencer, two teens who reside aboard a peculiar boat and bring a quieter, wary energy to the group with their own suspicions and backstories.

As the night unfolds, Spencer proposes they test a homemade Ouija Board crafted with a glass and paper, a reckless game that seems silly at first but grows increasingly ominous as the glass begins to move on its own. Lucy warns them that once the glass is joined to the living world, it must be kept in motion or the spirit they contact risks being trapped or misled. When the board spells out the name Djinn, Liam experiences a traumatic flashback of the cult’s earlier massacre, a memory that shakes him to the core. The mood shifts from playful to panicked as the group breaks the glass in a flash of fear and tries to escape, but the horror is just beginning. Later that night, Annie encounters the Djinn’s malevolent reach in a brutal, supernatural assault that hurls her through a skylight and onto an unforgiving table, killing her in a sudden, grotesque moment.

Back at the apartment, the survivors try to process what happened and search for explanations. A sense of dread settles in as a power outage plunges the building into darkness. Spencer and Webster sneak into Becker’s room to investigate, discovering a chilling private archive: photos, relics, and newspaper clippings that weave Becker’s name into something much larger and darker, tied to a past seance conducted by Liam’s father, Paul Brennan. The evidence is enough to push them toward the police, but fear keeps them from taking a simple step forward. The next day, Liam confronts the truth in the hospital where his father, Paul, lies under treatment and under the looming shadow of the occult. The investigation deepens as Becker warns Lucy that the Djinn has already possessed one of the teenagers, and a banishing ritual must be prepared to drive it out.

The haunting intensifies as Stella, Joe, and Webster become targets of the Djinn’s influence, their lives abruptly cut short in a spiral of violence. In a desperate bid to end the terror, Lucy, Spencer, and Rob agree to a risky banishing ritual, hoping to force the evil entity back into the other world. They return to the abandoned factory where Annie died, hoping the method will work this time. As the trio attempts the banishment, the Ouija Board catches fire and explodes, turning ritual into a chaotic blaze. Spencer tries to hide from the chaos, but Rob — revealed to have been possessed by the Djinn all along — moves with merciless certainty to finish the task. Becker arrives just in time to knock Rob unconscious and douse him in gasoline, but Liam, desperate to protect his friends, attacks Becker in a frantic struggle that spills into violence. Rob seizes the moment to complete the plan, forcing the group back into the dangerous arena where the Djinn’s power can be fully unleashed.

Liam’s world collapses as he discovers Lucy hanging dead inside an elevator shaft, a stark reminder that the Djinn does not merely haunt; it enacts. When the Djinn reveals its true form and attacks Liam, a brutal struggle erupts. Liam seizes an oil lamp and, in a final act of defiance, ignites Rob, casting him into the flames and sending him down the elevator shaft. The blast that follows destroys the shaft, and the explosion claims Liam’s life as well. In the aftermath, the Djinn posses Liam’s body and makes a harrowing, final appearance at the hospital to torment Paul Brennan, burning him as the screen darkens.

The film compounds its dread by weaving a legacy of ritual and guilt through the characters’ fates. The past’s shadow hangs over the present as a single, malevolent force moves through generations, turning a routine night into a test of wills and a fight for survival.
