Father Henry arrives at Robbie Mueller's home after suspecting Robbie's supernatural powers. Robbie denies the accusation and urges Henry to talk with Heather Elliot, who claims she doesn't know what happened. Robbie's mother forces Henry to leave the house, ending the visit.

Five years have passed and Robbie returns as a new student at the same high school Heather attends. Heather's growing attraction to him unsettles Greg Forsythe, who begins to push for her attention. In a public confrontation at school, Greg fights Robbie and is suddenly subjected to an unseen force that slams him into lockers before an ambulance arrives.

After his release from the hospital, Greg takes Heather for a drive and becomes increasingly physical. Heather escapes his advances, kicking him and running away toward safety. Robbie encounters Greg in the aftermath, deepening the tension between their circles.

Detective Fleming arrives at the scene and reveals that Greg’s death involved a farm machine that inexplicably had no engine. He informs John that Heather is a suspect in Greg’s death. John is dismayed, especially as his daughter continues her budding relationship with Robbie, which deepens the family rift.

John begins confronting Robbie on several occasions at school, accusing him of a larger involvement in the town's killings. Robbie pushes back, refusing to admit guilt, and Heather sides with him even as the rift widens. The detective's suspicions intensify the tension between father and daughter.

Father Henry meets with John and shares his growing suspicions that Robbie is tied to a prophecy foretelling evil. John remains skeptical but uneasy as the discussion deepens his worries. That night, Henry's car veers strangely and nearly crashes off the road.

At school, Matt and another boy attack Robbie in the locker room. An invisible force knocks them down, hinting at Robbie's unearthly protection or power. The incident heightens the sense that something supernatural is protecting Robbie during conflicts.

Shortly after the warning about Robbie, the cross around Father Henry's neck mysteriously chokes him, killing him. The death is shocking and chilling, signaling the growth of the supernatural threat. John learns of Henry’s death and its connection to Robbie’s fate.

John discovers Father Henry's body and then encounters Robbie at the cemetery alongside Heather. Heather asserts Robbie’s innocence to his father, intensifying the conflict and forcing Robbie to confront the accusations directly. The trio stands amid growing tension between belief and accusation.

John confronts Robbie at gunpoint as Heather defends him. Robbie draws his own weapon and aims at John, but an unseen force pins the gun in midair and redirects it. In the end, John is forced to shoot Robbie when the situation escalates and Robbie appears ready to shoot again.

With Robbie dead, Heather finally reveals that she possessed the supernatural ability all along. She explains that Robbie was innocent and that Heather herself was the true source of the danger. The revelation reframes everything the father believed about the case.

The town comes to terms with the tragedy and the dangerous consequences of fear and power. Henry's warnings linger, and Heather must live with the burden of what she and Robbie's fate revealed. The ending leaves unresolved questions about prophecy and the nature of evil.
