Watchmen: Chapter I

A mysterious killer takes the life of a superhero known as the Comedian. This shocking event sends ripples through the superhero community and raises serious concerns about the safety of other heroes.

In the aftermath of the Comedian's death, the police initiate an investigation but struggle to uncover any significant leads. Their inability to solve the case raises suspicions among the remaining superheroes about a potential threat lurking in the shadows.

Dr. Manhattan faces increasing scrutiny as people believe he is responsible for causing widespread cancer. Overwhelmed by the blame and societal backlash, he decides to retreat to Mars, seeking solitude from human affairs.

Amid the chaos surrounding the investigation, Dan Dreiberg and Laurie Juspeczyk attempt to rekindle their romantic relationship. Their personal lives become intertwined as they navigate the complexities arising from their superhero identities.

As tensions escalate, the true killer plots to frame Rorschach and eliminates a personal informant who could expose the truth. This clever maneuver sets the stage for Rorschach's eventual downfall.

In a twist of fate, Rorschach is arrested after the killer makes it appear as if he is the one responsible for the crimes. His commitment to justice and truth ironically leads to his imprisonment.

During the end credits, audiences are treated to nostalgic radio recordings of old superheroes from the 1940s. This provides a sense of history and context to the current events and challenges faced by the remaining heroes.
