Walking Tall

Army Special Forces veteran Chris Vaughn comes back to his hometown in Kitsap County, Washington, after years of service. His family, especially his nephew Pete, is excited to see him and reconnect after their long separation.

Chris reunites with old friends, including Ray and Jay Hamilton, at a local football game. Tensions rise when an acquaintance named Booth targets Chris due to a previous injury, but the game ends positively despite the incident.

During the game, Chris notices his nephew Pete engaging with others who are smoking marijuana. Concerned for Pete’s safety, Chris warns him about the dangers of such influences, but his warnings fall on deaf ears.

That evening, Chris is invited to a new casino owned by Jay Hamilton, who had previously shut down his family’s timber business. Despite his reservations, Chris agrees to attend what he believes will be a harmless celebration.

Upon arriving at the casino, Chris is taken to a private booth where he sees his former girlfriend, Deni, performing as a dancer. Upset by her current profession, he chooses to leave the booth and heads to the gambling floor.

Chris becomes suspicious when he witnesses a dealer using loaded dice during his time at the casino. When he tries to express his concerns, Jay’s security team overpowers him, leading to a brutal beating.

After the violent incident at the casino, Chris is rushed to the hospital for treatment. During his recovery, Ray supports him, staying by his side as Chris contemplates the events that have transpired.

Once he's back home, Chris approaches Sheriff Watkins for help regarding the casino's security guards. Unfortunately, he learns that there's not enough evidence to take action, leaving him frustrated and disheartened.

Chris's concerns deepen when he receives alarming news that Pete has suffered an overdose. This revelation leads Chris to realize that the casino's security personnel are involved in drug dealing and further fuels his anger.

In a fit of rage, Chris initially grabs a shotgun but ultimately opts for a two-by-four to confront the casino. He wreaks havoc on the slot machines and stands up against Jay’s goons, challenging them to a fight.

During his court hearing, Chris faces accusations of being violent, with Jay presenting witnesses to support his claims. In a bold move, Chris dismisses his attorney and delivers a powerful speech to the jury about the corruption in his town.

Chris makes a remarkable decision to run for sheriff to clean up the corruption in his community. He wins the election and begins his tenure with a confrontation against Sheriff Watkins, asserting his authority right from the start.

Chris hires Ray as his first deputy despite Ray's initial hesitations linked to his past struggles with addiction. Together, they plot against Booth, starting with dismantling his customized truck as a form of retaliation.

Chaos unfolds when armed attackers raid the sheriff's office, led by Sheriff Watkins himself. Chris and Deni manage to fend off the intruders, but the confrontation leads to the death of Booth.

Determined to end Jay's reign of terror, Chris tracks him down to an abandoned lumber mill. Their showdown escalates into a fierce fight in the woods, where Chris ultimately corners Jay and delivers a decisive blow, bringing him to justice.
