Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie

In 1974, Ron Burgundy is a famous anchorman for San Diego's KVWN channel 4, leading a team that includes Veronica Corningstone, Brian Fantana, Champion Kind, and Brick Tamland. Their charismatic on air presence makes them the newsroom stars of the city and sets the stage for rivalry and change to come.

After the 6 o'clock newscast, Burgundy and the KVWN team attend a large TV anchor party, celebrating their success. The party highlights Burgundy's status in San Diego's local media scene and foreshadows the tensions to come.

The next morning, members of The Alarm Clock Mouse, Kanshasha X, Malcolm Y and Paul Hauser rob a bank. KVWN later learns this is the group’s third robbery, signaling a dangerous new threat to the newsroom. The loot is framed as funding for their revolution.

The Alarm Clock celebrate the heist and declare their revolutionary aims. Hauser is tasked with writing a manifesto but struggles, and the group ridicules him. Burgundys anti drug PSA triggers their hatred of propaganda and inspires them to take over television broadcasts as their goal.

That night, Burgundy gives Corningstone a tour of San Diego and shares his dream of broadcasting from the San Diego Observatory, convinced the broadcast could reach a mass audience.

The next day, Corningstone reports on a cat fashion show. Hauser, hiding his Alarm Clock affiliation, introduces himself to her and questions broadcasting, reciting a motto that hints at their agenda.

Later that day, the Alarm Clock attempts another bank robbery. The teller questions their masks and refuses to cooperate. Corningstone watches a closed circuit video and identifies Hauser, exposing his involvement.

Burgundy is granted field reporting permission and steals Corningstone’s notes about Hauser. He tracks down Hauser, who initially denies involvement but confesses when an alarm sounds; Hauser then escapes in the team's van.

The confrontation leads to Burgundy being fired from KVWN, damaging his reputation. Corningstone becomes the lead anchor, marking a major shift in the newsroom power dynamic.

Burgundy visits his mentor Jess Moondragon and reiterates his dream of transmitting news from the observatory, insisting the broadcast could reach the masses.

Corningstone is kidnapped by The Alarm Clock at her home, while Wes Mantooth reports on the incident. Burgundy is re-employed at KVWN and assembles his team to rescue her.

The Alarm Clock prepares their broadcast at the San Diego Observatory. Burgundy and his team arrive, are briefly captured, and then Burgundy volunteers to read the manifesto. He improvises a statement and reveals the Alarm Clock’s location, prompting his team to rappel in and overpower the group, rescuing Corningstone.

The rescued crew returns to a cheering crowd in San Diego. A network reporter offers Burgundy a position documenting news anchors, which he deflects by offering it to Corningstone; Mantooth grudgingly respects Burgundy.

The Alarm Clock members are incarcerated for five years. Upon their release, they invent the Macintosh computer and amass billions, marking their long-term influence on technology and culture.
