The Wrong Arm of the Law

Pearly runs his criminal operations from an elegant French couturier shop called Maison Jules. He impersonates police to steal cash and jewels from other crooks who have already taken the loot, this way he robs criminals who can't report the crimes to the police without incriminating themselves.

Valerie is Pearly's girlfriend and works as a model at Maison Jules. She secretly teams up with the Australian impostors, feeding them details about the crimes Pearly and his associates are planning. This inside information allows the IPO Mob to anticipate and intercept Pearly's operations.

After initially suspecting each other of sabotage, both Pearly and Nervous O'Toole discover they're being targeted by the same impostor gang. Rather than continuing to compete, they realize they share a common enemy in the IPO Mob and join forces with Inspector Parker to flush out the criminals.

The Scotland Yard assistant commissioner insists Parker join Pearly's operation to ensure the safety of the cash and bullion during the staged crime. By becoming an insider, Parker can verify the loot is secured and maintain oversight of the trap being set for the IPO Mob.

After the bullion robbery succeeds, Pearly proves reluctant to relinquish the proceeds as agreed in the plan. His greed threatens to derail the cooperation between criminals and police, creating a critical conflict that endangers the entire operation to trap the IPO Mob.

The IPO Mob is a gang of three Australian criminals who impersonate police officers to pull off robberies. They steal from criminals by posing as law enforcement, making it nearly impossible for their victims to report the crimes. Both Pearly's gang and Nervous O'Toole's operation become targets of this impostor group.

Inspector Parker proposes staging a large bullion robbery as bait. When the IPO Mob attempts to intercept this lucrative target, the combined forces of Pearly's gang, Nervous O'Toole's men, and Parker's police close in, successfully arresting the impostors in a coordinated takedown.

The London underworld calls a 24-hour truce to allow a full search for the IPO Mob and their networks. However, the impostors exploit this pause in criminal activity to slip through Parker fingers, evading capture and continuing their scheme.

After the IPO Mob escapes during the truce, Parker devises a bold ruse: stage a major crime and present it to the assistant commissioner to lure the impostors into the open. The plan creates an irresistible opportunity the IPO Mob cannot resist intercepting.

The investigation exposes a web of deception where Valerie's double-dealing, Pearly's greed, and the constant impersonations blur the line between law enforcers and criminals. The resolution shows how easily trust becomes a weapon in a city where everyone wears a mask.
