Village of the Damned

Residents of Midwich fall inexplicably asleep at 10 AM, remaining in this state for several hours. When they awaken at 4 PM, no one can explain the unusual occurrence, leaving the town in confusion.

In the aftermath of the blackout, ten women of child-bearing age discover they are pregnant, including a virgin girl and Jill McGowan, whose husband is abroad. This unusual event raises questions about the cause and nature of their pregnancies.

The ten pregnant women deliver their children in a barn on the same night. While five boys and five girls are born, tragedy strikes when the virgin's daughter dies due to umbilical cord asphyxia, leaving the community in shock.

The surviving children are all notably distinct, featuring strikingly pale skin, white-blonde hair, and cobalt blue eyes. Their unusual physical traits are matched by their extraordinary intellects, suggesting something otherworldly about their origins.

Research reveals that similar instances of children born during blackouts occurred globally. Unfortunately, those children were often exterminated due to their inhumane characteristics, illuminating a dark reality facing these unique beings.

Dr. Susan Verner unveils a preserved alien corpse of David's intended mate, hinting at the children's extraterrestrial origins. However, this shocking revelation ends tragically when the children retaliate against Dr. Verner.

As townspeople unite in fear and anger, an angry mob gathers in an attempt to drive the children away. The situation escalates, leading to chaos as emotions run high and confrontations become violent.

In a final attempt to protect the town and his own family, Dr. Alan devises a plan to detonate a bomb hidden in a briefcase in the children's classroom. He creates a mental block to keep the children unaware of the impending danger.

When Jill McGowan pleas for David’s safety, Mara's psychic senses alert her to the hidden threat. Recognizing the danger of the bomb, Mara exposes the truth, causing panic among the children.

As the clock strikes, the bomb detonates, resulting in an explosion that claims the lives of Dr. Alan and the children. Amidst the destruction, Jill clings to David, vowing to escape to a place where no one knows them.
