Thommy, M R Gopakumar, a migrant labourer from Wayanad, Kerala, arrives in Pattellar’s town in South Karnataka to seek a way to survive. Pattellar, Mammootty, the town’s ruthless landlord, exploits him from the start and reveals himself as a psychopath who takes pleasure in exploiting and harming women. When Thommy speaks of his wife, Omana, Pattellar’s cruelty deepens: Omana, Sabitha Anand, becomes Pattellar’s victim that night as he rapes her. After that, Pattellar offers Thommy a job and showers him with gifts, drawing him into a subservient, dependent role. Thommy, now an obedient servant, watches Pattellar continue to rape Omana every night, trapped in a cycle of coercion and fear that stretches through the town.
Pattellar’s brutal appetite does not stop there. He spots Kuttaparai’s newly wedded daughter and, without regard for any consequences, kidnaps and rapes her as well, underscoring his utter contempt for others’ safety and autonomy. The town’s mood grows tense as violence and fear ripple outward, and a line between master and victim blurs in the shadows of Pattellar’s power.
One day, Pattellar viciously beats a wealthy man named Yusuf. His wife, a kind woman who treats Thommy with warmth, urges him to reform and be a better man. Pattellar, chafing at the counsel, decides to kill his wife and persuades Thommy to help stage the death as an accident. The plan goes awry when an attempt ends with Thommy being wounded by a gunshot rather than Pattellar’s wife. Pattellar contemplates killing Thommy, but his wife intervenes, arranging to get Thommy to the hospital for treatment and safety.
Recovering, Thommy finds that Pattellar’s next move is to drag him into another forbidden act: Pattellar goes to Thommy’s home not to rape Omana again, but to force Thommy to join him on a fishing trip in the temple pond, a ritual that is strictly forbidden. They return unsuccessful, and the uneasy alliance between master and servant frays as trust erodes under the weight of fear and coercion.
Soon, Yusuf, Kuttaparai, and several prominent town figures decide Pattellar must be stopped. They enlist Thommy’s help to carry out a plan to kill him. Thommy brings Pattellar to his own house, following the plan, but Pattellar finds a way to escape. In a brutal turn, Pattellar murders his wife and tries to pass the death off as suicide, using Thommy as a willing accomplice in the cover-up. Thommy weeps at the sight of the woman’s lifeless body, the weight of the act crushing him, even as his heart aches for a sense of right and wrong he seems unable to claim.
The truth does not stay buried for long. Omana’s brothers uncover the deception, and the town’s response shifts from complicity to vengeance. Pattellar is bruised and battered as he flees with Thommy through the jungle, seeking a safe haven that never materializes. In the end, Pattellar is killed by his brothers-in-law, a violent end that marks a stark reckoning for his reign of terror. Thommy, who once trembled at the price of obedience, mourns the loss of his master before gradually allowing himself to feel the ache of freedom and the possibility of a new life beyond fear.
