A Creole woman digs up a mysterious briefcase and drives away, kicking off a sequence of ominous events. The act hints at a supernatural danger that will soon touch the lives of Eden and her friends. The suitcase's sinister aura foreshadows the horrors to come.

Eden and her friends hang out at the local burger joint while Ray, the tow-truck driver, stops by to pick up an order. Tammy flashes him, and Rachel notes how intimidating he seems. The scene builds tension between the teens and the adult figure who will become central to their fate.

After work, Eden and Eric walk home as Ray drives by. CeCe's grandmother—revealed from the opening moment—swerves to avoid Ray and nearly falls off the bridge. Ray saves her but she begs him to retrieve the suitcase; the car plunges into the water and snakes emerge, killing both Ray and CeCe's grandmother.

The coroner notes snake bites on Ray's body, but Ray suddenly returns to life. He kills the coroner and leaves to retrieve his tow truck, signaling a supernatural escalation. The undead killer marks the shift from tragedy to direct terror.

The next day, Eden visits her father's grave and sees Ray's tow truck driving by, confirming that the killer is still in town. The encounter reinforces the sense that the threat will not die with the previous victims. The community remains on edge as the danger persists.

At the lake, a heavily drunk Sean abandons Rachel, forcing Eric to chase after him. The incident juxtaposes teen drama with looming horror as Ray's influence grows. The tension from the tempering of youth bleeds into the night ahead.

Tammy and Patty plan to shoplift but stop by Ray's business to fix their car first. Tammy discovers Patty hanging by chains, and Ray lowers a car and sandblasts her to death, escalating the killer's reach. The incident shows Ray's brutality and sets the teens on a direct collision course with him.

Eric follows Sean to Ray's garage and learns more about the killer's past after finding a childhood photo that shows Ray once cared. He then discovers Tammy's remains, realizing the threat is personal and deadly. The discovery deepens the sense that Ray's vendetta targets those he encounters.

Eden and the group arrive at CeCe's grandmother's house, where CeCe explains that the snakes embody evil she drew from men to purify their souls. The group tries to flee, but their car is flipped over, stranding them inside. The house becomes a fortress where the horror intensifies.

Inside the house, the undead killer pins Ricky with a crowbar and tears off his arm. Ray, blocked by voodoo charms in the house, nevertheless drags Sean out and mortally wounds him. The assault cements the danger as something supernatural and unstoppable.

Eden, Eric, and Rachel shoot Ray with a rifle to give space to drag Sean inside, but Sean dies on the floor amid mourning and shock. The group mourns and recalibrates their plan to survive. The violence of the night escalates toward a final confrontation.

Eden uses the charm CeCe gave her to subdue Ray, but snakes possessing him attack again. She evades the snakes and drives Ray's truck to kill him, ending his reign of terror for now. Two snakes escape from his body in search of a new host.
