Solomon Joseph, Prithviraj Sukumaran is a police sub-inspector stationed at Rajakkadu, a town in Idukki. He has learned that money and power can bend people to his will, and he uses both to amass wealth, spending it on booze and women. Estranged from his father and step-family, he leads a self-directed life, with a priest who acts as a father figure guiding him along the way.
Two influential local businessmen, Ummachan, Devan, and Vavachan, Vijayaraghavan, constantly butt heads over control of Rajakkadu. Solomon is friendly with Vavachan and even helps him in smuggling operations through his turf. In a clash involving Ummachan’s younger brother Dennis, Dennis and four Bangalore visitors come to town, and Solomon ends up taking Dennis and his friends into custody after a violent altercation at a club. Ummachan manages to arrange bail for his brother, but the gesture also comes with a veiled threat against Solomon. The next day, Solomon learns that Dennis and his crew have hired a local prostitute; he confronts them in the act, intending to humiliate Ummachan and squeeze the maximum bribe out of the affair.
Ummachan is pursuing a path toward the Legislative Assembly, and the embarrassing incident could jeopardize his political future. He pleads with Solomon to release his brother, but the officer demands a proper bribe. They agree on a 3 lakhs payoff delivered personally to Solomon. Ummachan then tries to implicate Solomon in bribery, but Solomon senses a trap and arrests Ummachan on charges of attempting to bribe a public official. Both men are released on bail shortly after.
That night, Dennis launches an attack with his gang against Solomon. The sub-inspector beats them back, and Dennis dies after the brutal confrontation. With the help of constable Chandikkunju, played by Augustine, the body is disposed of, and Solomon appears to escape punishment by receiving a punishment transfer to the northern part of Kerala. Ummachan uses this moment to threaten Solomon.
Solomon lands in Badiyadka, a station where the area is effectively under the control of Aboobakar Haji, Captain Raju, a wealthy smuggler who earned his fortune by cheating his mentor Valiyaveetil Baputi. Baputi’s wife and daughter, Nadia, face eviction due to Baputi’s debts. Nadia, who is Renuka Menon as Nadiya, files a complaint when Shereef tries to molest her, and Solomon finds himself drawn into a public clash with Nadia while befriending Haji in exchange for a bribe. This marks a rare moment where Solomon’s conscience begins to tilt.
Chandikkunju returns to Bathiyadukka begging Solomon to provide 5 lakhs for his daughter’s marriage, as Ummachan tightens the financial screws. Solomon seeks help from Haji, only to be refused by Shereef. In a bid to strike back, Solomon hijacks Haji’s bootlegging truck and takes 2.5 million rupees, leaving 0.5 million behind. Haji’s men retaliate, and Solomon sustains near-fatal injuries but survives, ending up in hospital. Ummachan visits him there, threatening to settle the score once he fully recovers and hinting that he has silenced Chandikkunju who wouldn’t reveal Dennis’s remains.
Upon discharge, Solomon feels genuine remorse for his corrupt life. He falls in love with Nadia and hopes to marry her, while attempting to mend fences with his family; his father, however, passes away just before he can reconcile. The day before the wedding, Ummachan—assisted by Haji and Shereef—kidnaps Nadia to use her as bait to draw Solomon into a trap. Vavachan comes to the rescue, and the story builds to a climactic confrontation in which Solomon returns the favor with lethal resolve, ending Ummachan’s hold over the town.
