Still thinking about how Vadh (2022) ended? Here’s a full breakdown of the ending, key final moments, major twists, and the deeper meaning behind the film’s conclusion.
In the final stretch of Vadh, the pressure on Shambhunath and his wife Manju finally explodes. After relentless harassment from the loan‑shark Prajapati Pandey—who not only forces them to sell their home but also demands a vile favor involving Shambhunath’s young student—Shambhunath snaps and murders Prajapati, dismembering the body and trying to hide every trace.
The police, led by Inspector Shakti Singh, have been hunting Prajapati for his own reasons. Singh discovers that Prajapati possessed a damning video of Singh in a compromising encounter with a politician’s wife, a secret that had been keeping Singh’s corrupt dealings in check. With Prajapati dead, Singh’s blackmail material disappears, and he sees an opportunity. When Shambhunath, panicked, finally hands over Prajapati’s phone, Singh learns the truth about the murder but instead of arresting Shambhunath, he decides to protect him. Singh frames Prajapati’s boss, Dada, for the killing, thereby clearing Shambhunath’s name and eliminating the remaining threat to his own safety.
With the police no longer a danger and the debt collector’s empire dismantled, the Mishras make a decisive break from their estranged son Diwakar, whose abandonment and reckless ambitions had plunged them into this nightmare. They hand over the house they were about to lose to Naina, the teenage girl Shambhunath had taught, ensuring she and her family have a roof. Then, together, Shambhunath and Manju slip away to an unknown destination, leaving behind the trauma of debt, betrayal, and the violence that forced them to act. Their departure marks a bittersweet release: freedom from the weight of unpaid loans and an ungrateful child, but also the lingering question of whether any peace can truly follow such a brutal choice.
