The narrative begins with closed-circuit television footage capturing a critical exchange between two men in a parking garage, a meeting that gets interrupted by agents from the U.S. State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). Tragically, it seems two agents lose their lives during this confrontation with one of the men involved.

In a bustling Chicago, we meet Mark Warren, a tow truck driver navigating the highway on his way back to the impound lot. A sudden distraction forces him to swerve, and he loses control, colliding with construction barriers and rolling his truck at an intersection. Remarkably, Warren survives the wreck, though he leaves the scene with a broken arm. As emergency crews rush to his aid, a firefighter uncovers a hidden gun in the wreckage, handing it over to the police.

Meanwhile, Deputy U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard, alongside his crew including Cosmo Renfro, Bobby Biggs, Noah Newman, and Savannah Cooper, is staking out an apartment complex to catch two fugitive brothers, Michael and Greg Conroy. Gerard, cleverly disguised as a chicken mascot to blend in while promoting his food truck, keeps a vigilant watch. When the fugitive brothers arrive with their girlfriends, the team bursts into action, leading to a chaotic yet successful arrest. However, their success comes at a cost, as the brothers accuse Gerard of excessive force.

As the scene shifts to the hospital, Warren is treated for his injuries, where his French girlfriend, Marie Bineaux, pays for his medical bill. However, just as he’s about to leave, police arrest him for possessing the gun discovered in his tow truck, a direct violation of Chicago’s strict gun laws. To his dismay, it becomes clear that his identity has been mistaken; his fingerprints link him to a federal arrest warrant for a brutal double homicide, prompting him to demand legal representation.

That night, Gerard attends a party, but his real purpose is to face Marshal Katherine Walsh, who reprimands him over the Conroy brothers’ allegations. As a consequence, he is ordered to oversee the brothers’ transport back to Tennessee on a federal plane.

On the plane, as they fly towards their destination, things take a dramatic turn when Vincent Ling, a notorious Chinese mobster, requests to use the restroom. This leads to an unforeseen attack involving a disguised weapon, severely destabilizing the aircraft. It ultimately crashes in rural Kentucky. Amid the chaos, Warren seizes his chance, escaping as the search for him begins, led by Gerard and his newly assigned partner, Agent John Royce.

As the plot unfolds, Gerard and his team pursue Warren, realizing his true identity as Mark Sheridan, a former Marine operative.
