Marshall McClary, a notoriously violent, racist and foul‑mouthed Texas marshal, confronts a hostage crisis by opening fire on anyone nearby. FBI agents intervene, cutting off his negotiation; he is wounded and two suspects escape. Tracking the fugitives to Miami, he reluctantly teams with local police, antagonizing everyone he meets.
