On a sunny lake, Donald Duck / Huey / Dewey / Louie enjoy a carefree swim while a stern truant officer keeps a watchful eye on their every move. The tension rises as the officer, determined to enforce a strict education routine, corners the nephews and carts them off to the schoolhouse in his van, preaching the timeless value of a good education.

The nephews aren’t about to surrender quietly. With quick thinking and a bit of luck, they pull out their pocket knives and cleverly cut themselves free from the van, slipping away into the surrounding area and racing toward their clubhouse. The officer realizes the van is missing its tail end and speeds after them, the chase weaving through familiar paths toward the boys’ secret hangout.

Back at the clubhouse, the officer attempts several clumsy schemes to reclaim his captives. He jacks up the structure in a dramatic attempt to load it onto his van, but the nephews outsmart him by reversing the jack, sending it crashing down on the officer instead. Undeterred, the officer tunnels out and doubles down on his plan, resorting to a smoke-filled trap as a desperate last resort.

Inside, the boys keep the mood light even as danger looms: they’re cooking three chickens over an open fire, turning a potential trap into a playful standoff. Smoke seeps into the space, and they quickly pivot their strategy. They stuff the chickens into the bed and make a daring escape through the roof, leaving the officer peering into an empty clubhouse and fuming over a cunning ruse he didn’t anticipate.

In a bold move, Huey disguises himself as an angel and is lowered into the clubhouse, where he delivers a swift kick to the officer’s rear. The plan unravels as the disguise is knocked away, revealing the deception and leaving the officer seething with frustration. The tension culminates in a surprising twist at the entrance to the school. As they reach the building, a sign greets them with an unexpected truth: “NOTICE SCHOOL CLOSED FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS.” The officer realizes his mission was for nothing—he hadn’t been chasing truants at all, but just a seasonal closure.
