Truant Officer Donald

Donald is working as a truant officer, whose job is to enforce school attendance. When he sees Huey, Dewey, and Louie swimming in the lake during what he assumes should be school hours, he believes they are skipping class and decides to bring them to school by force.

The opening scene establishes Donald's strict adherence to rules and his role as an authority figure.

The boys pull out their pocket knives and cut themselves free from the van while Donald is driving. They quickly slip away and run toward their clubhouse, leaving Donald to realize the back of his van is missing.

The nephews are shown carrying small pocket knives earlier, which hints at their resourcefulness.

Donald attempts to load the entire clubhouse onto his van by jacking it up. The nephews cleverly reverse the jack mechanism, causing the raised structure to crash down on Donald instead of lifting onto the vehicle.

Huey disguises himself as an angel and is lowered into the clubhouse through the roof on a rope. He delivers a kick to Donald's rear, catching him off guard. The disguise is revealed when the angel costume gets knocked off during the scuffle.

When Donald peeks inside expecting to find the boys, he only sees chickens in the bed, the boys have already escaped through the roof.

The nephews look at each other knowingly when the smoke starts, indicating they're planning their next move.

The clubhouse is established as the boys' secret hideout, a place where they can evade Donald's capture. They run there because it's familiar territory where they know they can set up traps and defenses against their uncle's pursuit.
