In the town of Vernon, a series of brutal murders takes place on the nights of October 27, 29, and 31 in 1987. Three teenage girls, Tiffany, Marisa, and Heather, all meet a horrific end at the hands of the infamous Sweet 16 Killer, each murdered on their 16th birthday and stabbed 16 times.

Fast forward to the present day, teenager Jamie Hughes is excited for a Halloween concert with her friend Amelia. Unbeknownst to her, her mother Pam is home passing out candy while harboring a tragic secret connected to the past murders.

On the night of the concert, Pam Hughes, Jamie's mother, falls victim to the Sweet 16 Killer. The chilling twist reveals her tragic connection to the past, as she was friends with the murdered girls.

In her grief, Jamie discovers a chilling note hidden by her mother from the killer, reading, 'You’re next, one day.' This revelation sparks Jamie's determination to prevent her mother’s tragic fate.

Together with Amelia, Jamie decides to use a time machine they've been working on. She hopes to travel back to 1987 to change the events that led to her mother’s death and save Pam from the killer.
