In 18th‑century Naples, the penniless minstrel Salvatore “Totò” Sapore lifts starving crowds with lively tunes praising delightful dishes, especially pizza. His joyous serenades anger Vesuvia, a volcanic witch dwelling within Mount Vesuvius, who vows to thwart his culinary celebration.
