Ryuji Takasu, a high school student entering his second year, is struggling with his appearance. Despite having a kind and gentle nature, his sharp eyes often give others the mistaken impression that he is a delinquent, which frustrates him greatly. He is quite happy to have his close friend , Hirofumi Nojima, as his classmate, as well as harboring feelings for the cheerful and energetic , Yui Horie.

One day, Ryuji unexpectedly encounters Taiga Aisaka, an intensely volatile girl who is widely known as the “school’s most dangerous animal of the highest risk level.” Interestingly, Taiga is the best friend of Minori, and she has a fiercely negative attitude towards almost everyone, often snapping violently at those around her. Taiga’s personality makes her instantly dislike Ryuji, and matter-of-factly, she lives in an apartment facing Ryuji’s house, which leads to numerous awkward and humorous interactions between the two.

To help both of their romantic pursuits, they strike up an unusual arrangement to help each other set up dates and romantic opportunities.
