Ryuji Takasu starts his second year of high school, feeling frustrated about his appearance and trying to look his best. Despite his gentle personality, his intimidating eyes make him seem like a delinquent. He navigates the social dynamics of high school life with his friends and crushes.

Ryuji unexpectedly runs into Taiga Aisaka, known as the school's most dangerous student. Taiga has a negative attitude and is quick to snap at others. She immediately dislikes Ryuji and is living in an apartment facing his house.

It is revealed that Taiga has a crush on Yusaku Kitamura, while Ryuji harbors feelings for Minori Kushieda. They make an arrangement to help each other pursue their respective crushes, leading to initial plans to set up romantic situations.
