Time Walker

An earthquake collapses a wall in Tutankhamun's tomb, exposing a hidden chamber. Inside lies a sarcophagus containing a being that is not a traditional mummy but an extraterrestrial in suspended animation. The alien is wrapped in bandages and covered with a dormant green fungus, buried centuries ago in Ancient Egypt.

The mummy is brought back to the United States and examined by Dr. Ken Melrose, with an X-ray performed by student Peter Sharpe. Peter notices five crystals around the mummy's head and, motivated by curiosity, steals four of them and uses new X-rays to cover up the theft. The incident sets off a chain of events that will soon awaken the alien.

A second X-ray session overdoses the body with radiation. The dormant fungus re-activates, awakening the alien from suspended animation. The now-active being begins to move within its wrappings, threatening everyone around it.

At the following day's press conference, a student accidentally touches the fungus and loses a finger, drawing attention to the mysterious creature. The sarcophagus is opened in front of the press to reveal that the mummy has disappeared. Ken and his colleague Hayworth scramble to identify and control the fungal threat.

Initial whispers of a fraternity prank give way to university politics when President Wendell Rossmore seeks to pin the 'theft' on Douglas to install his ally as director. Dr. Bruce Serrano is positioned as the recipient of the department's influence. The suspicion distracts from the alien's looming threat.

The extraterrestrial tracks down the students who hold the stolen crystals, crucial components of its intergalactic transportation device. The alien begins reclaiming the crystals, intensifying danger on campus. A brutal attack on a female student confirms the threat is real.

Lt. Plummer is brought in to investigate a string of violent incidents that resemble a serial killer's work. As more victims turn up, the case intersects with the ongoing mystery of the mummy and the alien. The investigation tightens the net around the campus's strange happenings.

Douglas translates the sarcophagus hieroglyphs and uncovers that Tutankhamun encountered the alien and mistook it for a god. The text explains that Tutankhamun and attendants touched the alien and died from the creature's infectious fungus. The discovery links the alien to the stolen crystals and the current crisis.

Douglas realizes the crystals power the alien's intergalactic transport device. He traces the stolen crystals back to Peter, who admits the theft and provides the remaining crystal. The crystal connection ties the campus thefts directly to the alien's attempt to return home.

The alien activates its transportation device in a boiler room, and the mummy's wrappings disintegrate to reveal its true form. The security guard, urged by Bruce, fires at the alien, while Douglas jumps in front to protect it. The device powers up and both Douglas and the alien vanish, leaving a single crystal behind.

With Douglas and the alien gone, Bruce grabs the remaining crystal as the fungus begins to destroy his hand. The film ends with the line 'To Be Continued,' leaving the ultimate fate of the protagonists and the alien unresolved. The campus is left to confront the unknown threat that may still be out there.
