The Ritz

Gaetano Proclo registers at the Ritz using a false name to avoid his homicidal brother-in-law, Carmine Vespucci. The move sets the tone for the rest of his stay as he tries to blend into the hotel’s crowded, anxious atmosphere.

While checking in, Gaetano meets Googie Gomez, an overconfident entertainer who mistakes him for a famous producer. She flirts and tries to charm him, complicating his effort to stay incognito.

Unbeknownst to Gaetano, Carmine hires Michael Brick, a squeaky-voiced detective, to locate him. The undercover pursuit foreshadows the cat-and-mouse tension that will unfold at the Ritz.

Gaetano is sexually propositioned by Claude Perkins in his Ritz hotel room, a tense encounter that recalls their Army days. He resists, recognizing Claude as someone with his own agenda.

To avoid Claude, Gaetano meets another guest, Chris, and is drawn toward the sauna. The encounter pulls Gaetano deeper into a web of flirtations and hidden motives.

Googie prepares for her poolside performance and reveals she has been fired during rehearsals by Seymour Pippin, a Broadway producer. The revelation raises the stakes for Googie and foreshadows later twists.

Googie performs with two go-go boys, Tiger and Duff, while Gaetano spots Claude nearby and bolts, fearing exposure. The sequence blends humor with mounting danger as suspicions surface.

Backstage, Claude trips over an electric wire, ruining Googie's act. In a fit of rage, Googie hunts Claude down and throws him into the laundry chute.

Carmine arrives at the Ritz and Gaetano is escorted by Michael to his hotel room, where he begins to plot safety and exposure strategies. The confrontation marks the first major collision between the families.

Chris and Googie join Gaetano at Michael's hotel room, where he learns that Carmine plans to kill him to keep the inheritance intact. Googie also reveals that she is a real woman, not a drag persona.

Vivian, Gaetano’s wife, arrives at the Ritz while Claude helps hide her in Gaetano’s room. Carmine wakes up, accuses the guests of molesting his sister, and pulls poolside attendants into the pool to root out Gaetano.

Googie learns that Michael's uncle is Seymour Pippin, a stage producer, revealing a last-minute connection. Carmine, dressed in drag, is arrested by the police as Gaetano and Vivian depart the Ritz.
