A career‑oriented, childless married woman learns her father died while she is on a business trip. Overcome by a sense of life's fleeting nature and fear of mortality, she begins to question her bond with her husband. She eventually sees that even in marriage he is merely performing his role, sometimes convincingly, sometimes just a façade.
