Carlos Delargo, the banished son of a royal princess of Mandorra, returns to be tried for murder. He is freed by King Lorenzo, his uncanny double. After assassins hired by Napoleon wound the king, Delargo assumes the throne at the Prime Minister’s urging to stop the traitors, and falls for Princess Teresa, the king’s fiancée.
