The late King of the Martial World writes a coveted manual and splits it into odd and even pages to prevent a single master from gaining overwhelming power. The odd-numbered pages are held by the Yin family, while Teng Fei holds the even-numbered pages. Master Yin schemes to unify the halves by arranging Yin Cai-fa to marry the Winged Tiger so he can seize the other half for himself.

Guo infiltrates Yin household

The Flying Hero Guo Jiou-ru travels to the region and, in disguise as Teng Fei, plans to infiltrate the Yin household to steal the even-half of the manual. He stops at the Peaceful Tavern to observe Teng's movements and lay the groundwork for his undercover mission. He hopes to foil Yin's plot by obtaining both halves and preventing their misuse.

Master Liu Yi-ying and her daughter Yan-qing arrive carrying a letter from the Right Schools advising Guo to destroy the manual to minimize danger. Yan-qing presents Guo with a mini sword whose wound can only be treated by Master Liu.

Guo and Cai-fa continue their ruse of romance as Yan-qing overhears their exchange and grows anxious about Cai-fa's involvement. After a tense confrontation, Cai-fa ambushes Guo and he is badly injured, fleeing to Cai-fa's room to recover.

During their escape, Guo inadvertently impales Cai-fa with the sword Yan-qing had given him.

Guo fights and defeats You Ming, then turns to the Three Officers for a final confrontation. Yin arrives and restrains Guo with a whip, pressing for control of the situation.
