The Winged Tiger

The late King of the Martial World writes a coveted manual and splits it into odd and even pages to prevent a single master from gaining overwhelming power. The odd-numbered pages are held by the Yin family, while Teng Fei holds the even-numbered pages. Master Yin schemes to unify the halves by arranging Yin Cai-fa to marry the Winged Tiger so he can seize the other half for himself.

The Flying Hero Guo Jiou-ru travels to the region and, in disguise as Teng Fei, plans to infiltrate the Yin household to steal the even-half of the manual. He stops at the Peaceful Tavern to observe Teng's movements and lay the groundwork for his undercover mission. He hopes to foil Yin's plot by obtaining both halves and preventing their misuse.

Teng Fei is attacked by martial artists who seek his half of the manual as he heads toward the Yin Forest. Guo, disguised as Teng, is also attacked, and the two become unlikely allies against their pursuers. Together they fight off the attackers, forcing a temporary alliance.

After the skirmish, Teng questions Guo and learns his true identity and mission. Guo fights the Soul-Sucking Lad and the real Teng, killing both and taking Teng's half of the manual. This marks the transition of Teng's pages into Guo's possession.

Master Liu Yi-ying and her daughter Yan-qing arrive carrying a letter from the Right Schools advising Guo to destroy the manual to minimize danger. Guo refuses and rips out a portion of pages as a safeguard, then gives those pages to Yan-qing for safekeeping should he die. Yan-qing presents Guo with a mini sword whose wound can only be treated by Master Liu.

Guo arrives at the Yin Forest and presents Yin with his portion of the manual, while You Ming suspects his true identity. The Three Officers scheme to have Guo killed so they can seize Yin's portion as well. Guo must navigate suspicion, deception, and danger as he moves forward.

Cai-fa is instantly smitten by Guo upon meeting him, and a complicated romance begins to blossom. Yan-qing sneaks into the Yin Forest to relay warnings and observe the unfolding romance. Teng's body is discovered by Yin's lieutenant and brought into the Yin Forest, raising suspicion that Guo may be impersonating Teng.

To test Guo's sincerity, Yin prompts him to demonstrate Teng's signature killing technique. Guo reproduces Teng's style and defeats several of Yin's guards, earning Yin's trust and delivering his portion of the manual. You Ming remains wary and schemes to lure Guo with Cai-fa, suggesting a hidden location for the manual.

Guo and Cai-fa continue their ruse of romance as Yan-qing overhears their exchange and grows anxious about Cai-fa's involvement. Cai-fa informs Guo of Yin and You Ming's plan to test his sincerity, and Yan-qing confronts her sister about Guo's true intentions. After a tense confrontation, Cai-fa ambushes Guo and he is badly injured, fleeing to Cai-fa's room to recover.

Guided by Yin's trap, Guo heads to the cave where the manual supposedly lies, only to find the tripod empty and Yin closing in. Cai-fa arrives with alluring bombs that are actually duds, but she helps Guo escape and fend off Yin's thugs. During their escape, Guo inadvertently impales Cai-fa with the sword Yan-qing had given him.

Guo fights and defeats You Ming, then turns to the Three Officers for a final confrontation. Yin arrives and restrains Guo with a whip, pressing for control of the situation. Cai-fa's sacrifice becomes pivotal as she uses the impaled sword to sever Yin's whip, enabling Guo to kill Yin and end his menace.

Cai-fa dies from her wounds after the battle with Yin, leaving Guo to reflect on her sacrifice and their fragile bond. He carries her body toward Mount Hua, determined to fulfill his vow of spreading the manual's teachings to the martial world. The narrative closes on Guo's solitary march, bearing both memory and responsibility.
