The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie

With Tromaville peaceful again, Melvin Junko is depressed because he can’t fight crime or hold a normal job. Claire, his blind girlfriend, hopes for a life-changing surgery that costs $357,000. To pay for it, Toxie signs on as a spokesman for Apocalypse Inc., sealing the deal in his own blood.

Claire undergoes the groundbreaking surgery; for the first time she can see Toxie and she falls even more in love. The moment marks a turning point as she discovers a new vision of their life together. The public attention around the surgery also underscores the widening gap between Toxie and Tromaville.

Apocalypse Inc. begins promoting their chemicals, and Tromaville is shocked to see their hero endorsing the company. Toxie's ego inflates as he enjoys the perks of fame and treats his neighbors like admirers. The town starts to question the hero they once trusted.

Claire confronts Toxie about his changes, but their argument ends without reconciliation. A group of kids vandalizes a poster of Toxie, knocking it down and kicking it. Toxie recalls a lesson from church and resolves to clean up Tromaville again.

Toxie earns back the trust of Tromaville by killing a gang of Apocalypse Inc. goons who were holding hostages at the Tromaville Video Store. His decisive action restores faith in the hero and reopens the path to protecting the town. The hostage incident marks the return of Toxie’s crime-fighting image.

The Chairman reveals he is the Devil, a green-skinned demon, and challenges Toxie to a battle of wits in the form of a video game called The Five Levels of Doom. Toxie accepts the challenge, turning a personal vendetta into a fight across five otherworldly levels. The Devil’s realm becomes the arena for Tromaville’s last stand.

In the Earth level, Toxie is sucked into the ground. When he emerges, Mona Malfaire orders an Apocalypse thug to decapitate him with a mower, but the attempt fails. Toxie survives this brutal test.

In the Fire level, both Toxie and the Devil are set on fire. Tromaville residents douse him, and Toxie extinguishes the flames by urinating on the Devil. The bizarre victory deepens the Devil's defeat and pushes the battle forward.

In the Wind level, the Devil kidnaps Tromaville's kids and sends them toward a mountain by bus as fierce winds whip the cliff. Toxie arrives at the cliff just in time for the kids to escape through a back door. Malfaire is crushed by the bus when it plummets over the edge.

The Water level places Toxie into a massive puddle intended to drown him. He escapes using a Sumo trick learned in Japan. The aquatic challenge tests his resolve as the fight continues.

In the final level, the Devil returns Melvin to Little Melvin, making him the victim of Apocalypse’s bullying once more. Claire is rendered blind again as she tries to intervene, and an angel disguised as a messenger gives Melvin a scroll. It begins to rain, and Melvin is transformed back into the Toxic Avenger, allowing Claire to see again.

Melvin defeats the Devil, ripping off his skin to reveal rats and bugs all over his carcass. He decapitates the Devil and throws his head to Tokyo, where a news reporter demonstrates a hair growth formula to a customer. The surreal victory underscores the strange, comic triumph of Tromaville's protector.

With Apocalypse Inc. defeated, Melvin and Claire celebrate by getting married, becoming monster and wife. Their union seals their partnership as Tromaville’s champions. The town ends on a note of hopeful, if ridiculous, triumph.
