Kenichi runs a second‑hand bookshop in an old Tokyo district, supporting his high‑school sister Yoko. After she graduates and works at a photo shop, Kenichi’s girlfriend leaves him for another. Yoko dates Kenichi’s best friend Makoto, which makes Kenichi uneasy. When Makoto dies in an accident, the siblings resume their quiet routine lives.
