The Thinning: New World Order

A week after the previous film, Governor Dean Redding gears up for the next presidential election. He seeks Laina Michaels' support to deflect the Thinning controversy. Laina declines the initial offer, but is soon targeted again by Ms. Cole and Jack in a plan to gain his trust and get close to him.

Blake is publicly presumed dead after a failed test, but is secretly taken to a slave labor facility where Worthy youths toil. He reconnects with Ellie and the two plot an escape, but Mason King and DPC guards thwart them, injuring Blake's leg and separating Ellie.

Eight months pass and two weeks before election day. Kellan uncovers that Assuru Global lacks a real campus manufacturing area and instead insources military rations from TXPak for 100,000 people per year. Laina begins to take this claim seriously as Wendy Banks doubts the proof.

Kellan visits Laina to discuss his discovery, but an attempt is made to suffocate him with a bag as he starts his car. He triggers the car alarm and escapes the killer, prompting Laina to contact FBI agent Joanne Morris.

As promised by Ms. Cole, Laina retrieves information from Georgina Preston's computer and manages to escape. Jack is captured during the escape, leaving Laina to continue on her own.

Laina is deceived by Morris, who tries to kill her. Laina subdues Morris for a moment but then escapes into an apartment, planning to get the drive safe.

Laina visits Kellan to copy the camp files onto his computer. Kellan departs and his car explodes when he starts it, leaving Laina with the drive she needs.

It is revealed that Morris and her men, aligned with Assuru, killed Kellan to silence him and planned to kill Laina as a final loose end.

Laina makes it to BNC News and turns over the drive to Wendy. This action exposes the conspiracy and supports the whistleblowing effort against Redding and Georgina.

Blake convinces the Worthy to betray their guards and escape as they shed GPS trackers. They flee across the Texas desert while BNC helicopters capture the moment; Mason pursues but Ellie kills him, and the couple finally reaches safety.

Governor Redding wins the election and becomes President. Georgina publicly arrests all conspirators against Redding and the Thinning. Laina, Blake, and Ellie are arrested but quickly intercepted by Jack, who claims to work for the FBI.

Jack tells them that he works for the FBI and vows to defeat Redding and Georgina and restore democracy. The group prepares to take back control and end the manipulation behind the Thinning.
