The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising

Will Stanton is on the brink of turning fourteen, an age that holds significance in his destiny as The Seeker. As his birthday nears, his family continues to prepare for a Christmas celebration, overshadowing the importance of his special day.

Miss Greythorne and her butler, Merriman, invite Will's family to a Christmas party at the Manor. The invitation marks the beginning of Will's journey into the world of The Old Ones and his unusual fate.

Two local farmers, Dawson and Old George, arrive at Will's home with a large Christmas tree. During their visit, they ominously wish Will a happy birthday while predicting bad weather, hinting at the chaotic events to unfold.

Despite the family's focus on Christmas, Will receives a thoughtful birthday present from his sister Gwen, a Casio G-Shock Mudman wristwatch. This moment signifies the bond between siblings, showcasing Gwen's support amidst family distraction.

While shopping, Will encounters trouble when two security guards accuse him of shoplifting. The situation escalates as the guards transform into rooks, forcing Will to use his emerging powers for the first time to escape.

After the shocking encounter with the rooks, Will begins to experience more strange occurrences, receiving a Celtic belt from his older brother Stephen. This further propels him into the mystical realm he is destined to confront.

At the Manor's Christmas party, Will encounters an ominous figure on horseback, known as The Rider. As The Rider prepares to attack, Miss Greythorne, Merriman, and the farmers intervene, showcasing their allegiance to The Light.

Miss Greythorne and the Old Ones take Will on a journey to the Great Hall, unveiling his true destiny. They inform him that he is The Seeker, tasked with finding six powerful Signs to combat The Dark.

After injuring his ankle, Will is surprised to find that the doctor is actually The Rider in disguise. The Rider showcases his dark powers, manipulating Will's injury as a demonstration of his strength.

Merriman starts training Will in how to harness his powers, which include superhuman strength and telekinesis. This training is crucial as Will prepares to confront the dark forces gathering against him and his family.

Will reveals the first Sign hidden within Gwen's pendant, leading him to realize the importance of each Sign in his quest. He begins the journey through time to locate the remaining Signs before The Dark can rise.

Will's growing feelings for Maggie complicate matters when she is revealed to be a witch aiding The Rider. After failing to secure the fifth Sign, Maggie suffers a disastrous fate, highlighting the treachery surrounding Will's quest.

With The Dark gaining strength, Will finds the sixth Sign within himself. This critical moment transforms him into a beacon of light, allowing him access to powers powerful enough to confront and banish The Rider.

After banishing The Rider and the darkness, Will finds his long-lost twin brother Tom trapped inside a glass sphere. Their reunion signifies hope and closure, as they return together to their family, embracing their destinies.
