The Return of Jafar

Almost a year after Jafar's defeat, Aladdin and Abu have settled into the Palace of Agrabah with Jasmine and the Sultan. Although content with palace life, Aladdin remains restless for adventures. He still foils a criminal group led by Abis Mal and returns their stolen loot to the citizens of Agrabah.

In the desert, Iago escapes from Jafar's lamp and refuses to free his former master. He drops the lamp into a well, then flies toward Agrabah in search of a new purpose. His arrival sets in motion a plan to befriend Aladdin.

Iago first interacts with Aladdin and Abu and is attacked by Abis Mal and his men. In a surprising turn, Iago saves Aladdin's life during the confrontation. Grateful, Aladdin agrees to keep Iago around on the palace grounds.

Abis Mal finds Jafar's lamp in the well and frees him, hoping to gain power or revenge. Jafar, though weakened, begins to plot his comeback. His release marks the start of a renewed threat to Aladdin.

Hindered by his incompetent new master, Jafar tricks Abis Mal into wasting his first two wishes. The duo then agrees to team up to take revenge on Aladdin. This alliance sets up a dangerous plan for Agrabah.

The Genie returns to the palace after traveling the world for a year, though his powers are diminished since his release. He remains faithful to Aladdin and the people of Agrabah. The reunion energizes the palace staff and residents.

During the evening banquet, the Sultan announces Aladdin as the new Royal Vizier. Rajah discovers Iago in the garden and chases him into the banquet. Aladdin asks the Sultan to pardon Iago, while Jasmine feels betrayed by his secret; the Genie and Iago help them reconcile.

Jafar infiltrates the palace and forces Iago to trick Aladdin and the Sultan into taking a trip to the waterfall. The plan is designed to isolate them and seize control of Agrabah.

On the trip, the Sultan forgives Aladdin and Iago, but Jafar ambushes them, sending Aladdin into the waterfall and capturing the Sultan, Jasmine, the Genie, and Abu. The palace's fate hangs in the balance as the villain tightens his grip.

Aladdin returns to Agrabah to warn Razoul, only to be framed by Jafar who is posing as Jasmine. Aladdin is accused of murdering the Sultan and is sentenced to death. The city falls further under Jafar's control as the stakes rise.

Feeling guilty for his actions, Iago frees the Genie, who saves Aladdin from death. Jafar now rules Agrabah, but Aladdin is determined to stop him. The Genie reveals that the only way to kill Jafar is to destroy his lamp, setting the stage for a final confrontation.

Jafar, in Genie form, ambushes Aladdin and friends, shatters the Carpet, and creates a pool of lava. Iago returns, grabs the lamp but is burned and knocked unconscious. With the last of his strength, Iago kicks the lamp into the lava, killing Jafar and undoing his magic.

With Jafar defeated, the palace is restored and Iago is forgiven and welcomed back. Aladdin rejects the Sultan's offer to become vizier, choosing to see the world with Jasmine instead. The couple looks forward to new adventures together.

In a brief post-credits scene, Abis Mal realizes that he will never get his third wish. His plans for revenge remain unfulfilled and he is left scheming from the shadows.
