The Return of the Musketeers

Cardinal Mazarin hires d'Artagnan to reunite Athos, Porthos, and Aramis to serve him. Porthos agrees to join, while Athos and Aramis decline. It is revealed that Athos has a son named Raoul, signaling a new generation within the old alliance.

Justine, Milady de Winter's daughter, captures and questions the executioner hired by the musketeers to kill her mother. He reveals that Comte de la Fere (Athos) was behind the plot. Justine then kills the executioner to avenge Milady.

Raoul discovers the aftermath of Justine's interrogation and tracks her down. In a confrontation where she is disguised as a priest, Raoul realises her plot against the musketeers and leaves to warn d'Artagnan and his companions.

Rochefort is unable to stop Beaufort's prison escape and is subsequently arrested by Mazarin. Mazarin then orders d'Artagnan and Porthos to pursue Beaufort.

Mazarin's pursuit of Beaufort is complicated by interference from Athos and Aramis, who are secretly working for Beaufort. A fight breaks out among the Musketeers, during which d'Artagnan wounds Aramis' hand and Aramis breaks his sword before riding away.

For failing to catch Beaufort, Mazarin fires d'Artagnan and Porthos. The duo faces a crisis of loyalty as they reassess their roles and futures.

Rochefort, having survived his earlier duel and living in hiding, finds Justine and reveals the names of d'Artagnan, Porthos, and Aramis. He also confirms that the Comte de la Fere is Athos.

With King Charles I to be executed, Queen Anne of Austria sends the Musketeers—d'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Raoul—to attempt a rescue. They knock out the executioner, but Justine steps in and beheads Charles.

The Musketeers have several encounters with Justine: Raoul's true allegiance is revealed to her. Later, Justine and Rochefort attempt to blow up the Musketeers' ship, but the Musketeers counter by detonating their own bomb and escaping; Rochefort is killed when the ship explodes, while Justine escapes.

Justine attempts to kill King Louis XIV but is stopped by the Musketeers. The confrontation ends with Justine leaping from a window into the water.

Aramis rejoins the Musketeers, and they press Mazarin to grant concessions. Mazarin signs the reforms: Porthos becomes a baron, Aramis a bishop, and Raoul is commissioned into the Guards.

The film ends with the Musketeers riding together again, their bond restored as they ride forward as a united team.
