Cardinal Mazarin hires d'Artagnan to reunite Athos, Porthos, and Aramis to serve him. Porthos agrees to join, while Athos and Aramis decline. It is revealed that Athos has a son named Raoul, signaling a new generation within the old alliance.

Justine captures the executioner and reveals the plot

Justine, Milady de Winter's daughter, captures and questions the executioner hired by the musketeers to kill her mother. He reveals that Comte de la Fere (Athos) was behind the plot. Justine then kills the executioner to avenge Milady.

Raoul learns Justine's plan and warns the Musketeers

Raoul discovers the aftermath of Justine's interrogation and tracks her down. In a confrontation where she is disguised as a priest, Raoul realises her plot against the musketeers and leaves to warn d'Artagnan and his companions.

Mazarin's pursuit of Beaufort is complicated by interference from Athos and Aramis, who are secretly working for Beaufort. A fight breaks out among the Musketeers, during which d'Artagnan wounds Aramis' hand and Aramis breaks his sword before riding away.

For failing to catch Beaufort, Mazarin fires d'Artagnan and Porthos. The duo faces a crisis of loyalty as they reassess their roles and futures.

With King Charles I to be executed, Queen Anne of Austria sends the Musketeers—d'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Raoul—to attempt a rescue. They knock out the executioner, but Justine steps in and beheads Charles.
