A bourgeois teenager leaves her comfortable home and piano lessons to work at a remote juvenile‑delinquent institution in northern Iceland in the 1970s. The staff practice flower‑power, sitar music and open‑talk therapy, but their anti‑authority stance is challenged when a mysterious newcomer provokes the youths’ rebellion, leading to a violent incident that damages the fragile rapport in the centre.
