Meanwhile, another swordsman named Fung, who fights with two swords, is drawn into Tiger Mansion’s web. Two men arrive at the eatery claiming they were robbed by Tiger Mansion’s students and beg Fung to intervene. Fung agrees, but the plan is a trap; the men were part of Lung’s scheme to lure Fung into a confrontation. At the same time, two Tiger Mansion students bully Lei Li, and the arrival of Fung brings a dramatic balance to the moment as he defeats them. Lei Li, who refuses to fight back, nevertheless earns Fung’s respect for his martial prowess and his reputation. Lei Li also rejects Fung’s overture to become friends again, wary of returning to the world he had left behind. The defeated students report back to Chief Chan, a stern figure who commands respect as the Tiger Mansion’s instructional leader. Chief Chan’s authority is challenged when Lung publicly denounces Fung, and the plan to convene a martial artists’ gathering at Tiger Mansion begins to take shape.

Ba Jiao’s father refuses to part with a powerful sword, explaining that it belonged to a great swordsman who was killed and that Lei Li may be better off without it. Yet Ba Jiao steals the sword and slips it to Lei Li in the night, hoping to empower him. Lei Li rejects the gift at first, but Ba Jiao cannot abandon her wish to help him, and she is later kidnapped by Tiger Mansion’s followers. In a pivotal rescue, Fung arrives to save Ba Jiao and defeats one of the assailants. The bond between Lei Li and Fung deepens; Lei Li accepts Fung’s friendship, and the two become sworn brothers, united by a shared sense of honor and a desire to confront the wrongs around them.

Fung accepts an invitation to Tiger Mansion with the intent of denouncing their crimes, hoping that Lung may stand with him against the corruption. Lei Li warns him that Lung’s reputation masks a volatile truth and that treachery could lurk behind any alliance. Fung vows that, after the gathering, he will retire from martial arts to live a peaceful life with Lei Li. At the gathering, Fung confronts Chief Chan and denounces him, but Lung takes Chan’s side and accuses Fung of killing Chan’s student. The two duel once more, and Lung overcomes Fung using the same lethal technique that defeated Lei Li earlier. Lung offers Fung clemency in exchange for severing his right arm, but Fung refuses and dies in the battle, fighting Chan and Tiger Mansion’s followers.

News of Fung’s death drives Lei Li toward revenge. He mounts an assault on Tiger Mansion, determined to avenge his ally, and destroys Chan and his students in the process. Lung awaits him on a nearby bridge, and the two old rivals face off again. Lei Li, now wielding the inner strength forged through hardship, counters Lung’s famed technique by launching a daring display: he hurls three swords into the air and, one by one, catches and uses each against Lung. With a final, decisive strike, Lei Li cuts off Lung’s right arm and hurls him into the waters below the bridge. Having exacted his vengeance, Lei Li is finally able to reunite with Ba Jiao and begin a new chapter, free from the shadow of Tiger Mansion’s crimes.

Hero Lung’s rise and fall is a stark meditation on reputation, power, and responsibility. The saga follows Lei Li’s transformation from a celebrated prodigy to a scarred but resolute fighter who refuses to be defined by the false charges and the violence that surrounded him. It also charts Fung’s steadfast honor and the costs of righteous resistance in a world where appearances can be deceiving and loyalties can shift in an instant. The journey culminates in a dramatic clash that binds Lei Li and Ba Jiao in a quiet, hard-won future, after a long season of trials, betrayals, and the unyielding push toward justice.
