Betrayed city reporter Kazuya Mizuno is sent to the Kaname newspaper, where eccentric locals—Shimeko, a brilliant girl and her singer‑fisherman father; a domineering Shinto priest with a Christian cult past; Endo, a bitter colleague mourning his son’s suicide; and Teruko, the mesmerizing bar owner—populate the town. Unexplained, mystical forces swirl, pulling Kazuya into the mystery.
