Emmet Brickowski and his friends are startled by the sudden arrival of extraterrestrial beings from the planet Duplo. This event occurs shortly after Finn receives permission from his dad, Lord Business, to explore LEGO creations, setting off a chain of events filled with unexpected surprises.

In a bid for peace, Emmet offers a heartfelt gift to the Duplos, but their imposing leader devours it, signaling their nefarious intentions. This leads to immediate chaos when Lucy, aka Wyldstyle, takes action to confront the Duplos, unleashing pandemonium throughout Bricksburg.

Five years pass, and Bricksburg is now known as Apocalypseburg, a shadow of its vibrant past. Lucy informs Emmet that the Justice League had previously set out to confront the Duplos, but their fate remains unknown, adding to the despair felt by the citizens.

While reconnecting with Lucy over coffee, Emmet shares a bizarre dream involving a dolphin-adorned clock striking 5:15 and a black hole threatening their world. However, Lucy's silence reveals the burdens she carries, as Emmet’s optimism contrasts sharply with her grim perspective.

Their lives are thrown into further chaos when a spaceship lands and drops a heart-shaped bomb. Emmet, Lucy, and Ultrakitty scramble to escape in a makeshift vehicle, but their efforts to evade capture attract attention from their relentless pursuers.

Emmet and the captured Master Builders meet Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi, who enchants them with her shapeshifting abilities and charming demeanor. Her surprising proposal to marry Batman reveals her intentions of uniting their worlds under her leadership.

Amidst Emmet's struggles, he encounters Rex Dangervest, who becomes both an ally and an unexpected mentor. Rex shares his backstory of transformation from a forgotten toy to a formidable cowboy/raptor trainer, encouraging Emmet to embrace his strengths on their mission.
