A pivotal event occurs in 1933 when oil is discovered in Saudi Arabia with the assistance of the United States. This discovery leads to the founding of Aramco, marking the start of an economic transformation that would redefine Saudi Arabia's global significance.

As American workers arrive to facilitate oil extraction, specialized compounds are constructed to accommodate them. This development reflects the increasing foreign involvement in Saudi oil production amidst the deeply religious and conservative cultural backdrop of the kingdom.

In 1970, Saudi Arabia halts oil production in response to U.S. support for Israel during the Arab-Israel War. This dramatic move leads to a quadrupling of gas prices and underscores the strategic importance of oil in international politics.
