Thasi senses that Jake needs more than street fighting to stand a chance against Khan. He points Jake toward Prang [Keith Cooke], the sole fighter who nearly defeated Khan in the past. Prang now lives as a hermit along the Mekong River, preferring isolation to confrontation, but a deft ruse by Jake prompts Prang to reemerge. What begins as a test of skill quickly becomes a test of trust and resolve. Prang retrieves Jake’s passport after a playful misdirection—an early sign that this alliance could turn the tide.
