As a child, Yung Lin Hsiao-Hu witnesses the brutal murder of his parents at the hands of Tin Erh Keng Chang Yi and his two killers. His mother dies wearing a bracelet with bells, a small, haunting relic that will continuously remind the killers of their deed as years pass. This moment propels a lifelong quest for justice and retribution, shaping Yung’s path from victim to vengeful pursuer.

Seeking refuge, Yung finds a place at Shaolin, where an elder monk takes him in and begins his training. The training is notably concise compared with other Shaolin tales, focusing on practical discipline rather than long, ritualized rites. He carries buckets up stairs, leaps from perilous pits, and engages in rigorous combat drills. A remarkable skill emerges early on: his ability to puncture objects with his fingers, a talent that his eventual nemesis also wields. To reach Tin, Yung must outwit a devastating multi-man formation known as the Tien Lo Set and overcome Tin’s two lieutenants, including Phillip Kwok, before finally confronting Tin Erh Keng himself.
